1. FZAD Architecture + Design is a boutique office that does creative retail, residential and commercial architectural and interior projects. Our web site targets the unique client. (www.fzad.com) We have been in business for 23 years and have a very extensive portfolio. What distinguishes us from other firms is our high end approach with the principals on site to manage the project during construction. We have a convenient office in New York City at 41 East 60th Street between Madison and Park Avenue.
2. This advertisement is directed for experienced architects – over 50 – who have a knowledge base both for business and personal contacts they have gathered over the years as well as an understanding of the profession that is only gained by experience. This advertisement is directed to those individuals who are entrepreneurial in nature and spirit - this is critically important.
3. The problem is on one wants to hire you either because you are too expensive or that you pose a threat to their current “partner level”. But can you imagine if we had a group of seasoned architects – all being principals – the wealth of knowledge and the breadth of contacts – it would be truly exciting to walk into a meeting with 5 men and woman in gray hair who all have 45 years experience – how could we not get the project !
4. I can change that, Wright, Meir, Johnson were all over 60 when they did their first great job. Hence I believe in the age of the profession and furthermore I can return the opportunity. I want to leverage those contacts and your zest to practice in the profession. If you can get the projects I will support you with an entire midtown office with the technical drafting and design team. I will take care of the business side of things; I am licensed currently in 13 states.
5. Hence the position is for an independent architect or designer to source leads and new business on a 10% commission basis. If we get the job you will help run it or whatever skill set you may have you can contribute to it and get paid. We will provide marketing materials for publicity and brochures to send to potential clients and customers. You will operate independently and not be an employee of the company. You may come and go as your schedule permits. See below and maybe there is a match. We currently have 12 people on board and want to get to 20. Can you imagine 20 people making 8 hours a week new business calls that is 160 hours a week – we are bound to get busy!
6. The current experts we are looking for are in the following fields:
a. ENERGY EXPERT – LEED ETC (thermal, solar and passive)
b. STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
c. EXHIBIT DESIGNER
d. RESORT DESIGNER
e. ASSISTED LIVING DESIGNER
f. STONE RESTORATION AND SPECS EXPERT
g. PRE-ENGINEERED BUILDINGS DESIGNER
7. The Current New Business Fields we are looking to fill:
a. FEDERAL PROJECTS
b. RELIGIOUS BUILDINGS – CONSERVATION
c. MILLWORK DETAILING
d. RESORT DESIGN / SPAS / FITNESS FACILITIES
e. ASSISTED LIVING DESIGN
f. RELIGIOUS PROJECTS AND RENOVATIONS
g. WAREHOUSE / SELF STORAGE / STORAGE BUILDINGS
8. I, the President of FZAD, Frederic Zonsius has worked in NYC for over 35 years with an extensive portfolio of additions and renovations. We will provide simple tasks of filing documents to complete set of documents and designs based upon an historical stylistic approach.
9. FZAD also is LEED Certified and can provide energy solutions for all existing and new projects including phot-voltics where one actually sells electric power back to Con Edison.
10. The individual has to be well groomed and ideally have an architectural back ground so one can converse architecturally about the profession and the potential project that is being pitched.
